well, hello again

i just realized it has been a week since i posted..wow. that doesn't happen often...especially since i didn't even realize i hadn't posted in awhile... anyway, a lot can happen in a week, huh? so i will just give you the highlights:

-friday we met with our booking agency and made plans for the new year... it was exciting! (which is somewhat unusual for meetings) we are working on a new kind of show for shawn... really more of an 'experience' than a 'show'. we have been kicking around the idea for awhile now and its WONDERFUL that the label and booking agents are into it. instead of doing the normal ccm show with 3 artists (15min/30min/1hr) and all that jazz, we want to create a night for a different kind of community... we are going to have shows in theaters/art galleries/coffee houses and keep it small...candle lit... and have art displayed in the room...(from local artists as well as shawn's photography, etc)...we want to involve maybe one local singer/songwriter and have a painter during shawn's set (www.thetranspireproject.com)...so exciting! we might try to have a speaker/author at times too... still working out the details, but i tihnk it will fit us much better - we aren't into the whole video screens and big production stuff

-saturday shawn left for maine and my dear friend tiffani came to visit...it was awesome to be able to see a truly familiar face..and to have REAL conversation (we don't put enough value on that in our culture!)s tiff is great...check out her blog www.timeoutwithtiff.blogspot.com

-also saturday we watched "a series of unfortunate events"...LOVED it. my sis had recommended it to me and i am not a big movie person, but it moved me...i think i see a blog inspired by it in my future! *grin* so if you haven't go see it, do.

-sunday i was in what anne of green gables would likely have called "the depths of despair"...loneliness is a very tangible part of my life right now and i was trudging through it sunday morning. shawn called right while i was in the middle of sobbing to my mom about missing home, so he paid to take an earlier flight home...so i went running to pull myself together (exercise is good for that when nothing else is...that tip is for free! ha!) ... and even though he got home 2 hours earlier, his luggage didn't. so we opted to stay near the airport for dinner and ate (first time for us both) at the rainforest cafe. the prices are a little high for the quality of food, but you sure can't beat the surroundings! my sweet husband was mesmerized by the salt-water aquariums!

-sunday night...well...actually that story is so good it deserves its own blog...be watching for "no sleep for you!"

-monday morning i took shawn back (yes, he was home less than 12 hours) to the airport and then decided to drive home to be with my family...7 hours later i had made it with only one traffic delay...outside of cincy, naturally. i spent the day hanging with my sister mostly. she packed for her tour and we went for a walk down our road and just caught up on life. she gave me her "where the wild things are" pink t-shirt insisting "no, i want you to have it" . i am wearing it now. i slept like a baby on the cool, leather couch and awoke early enough in the morning to see everyone off to school.

-tuesday i literally spent ALL day talking with my mom and my aunt deb. 9am-3pm. indescribable. women (esp,. related women) know how to converse!!!

-wednesday i got up early and made the drive back to nashville...the sermon tapes my aunt gave me made the drive much better...throw in listening to the new dave crowder cd and it all in all in was a nearly perfect trip...one stop for gas and the trip back went quite fast.;.. i spoke with some friends from new orleans i hadn't been able to contact and thank God they got out. but pray for them...both sets of their parents live in the city too so they are without homes...www.jasonmorant.com

-i said goodbye to my sis yesterday as she got on the jeremy camp tour bus..pray for the sweet thang..being the only girl isn't easy!!!

okay so that's the main highlights...now i feel like we can talk about something else!

Kate I have so missed you!! Your advice to Chris (who) that your mom gave you about "no one can handle their life" really helped me also. I need reminded of that!!

Thank you so much for your inspiration and just being a "friend"
