Joe was released from the hospital yesterday early evening and he and his little brother went home with my parents. Mom said Joe was so relieved to be at the house and is spending his time playing with a butterfly balloon from the hospital. His speech is coming back and he is starting to seem more and more like the Joe we all love. He was also very happy to see his 'bubby' (what he calls lil brother josh)
The hospital told their Mom she could not take them back to the house because of Joe's lead level...they don't have the authority to enforce that, but if she didn't comply they would get the health department involved. She was asking my dad where she's supposed to live... of course, the lead isn't a health threat to her and she has now had over 2 years to move from the house...she's known about the lead problem that long. She kind of wants my parents to just let her move in too and pay the bills for everything, which of course, they are not going to do. My dad told her she needs to use this time to find a new place to live and a job. We will see if that happens.
Joe has the day long EEG on November 4th, please pray that will show what is going on inside him. Also pray my parents can keep the device on him all day! *grin*

Great news!!! Our God is an awesome God!
Kate, I have to tell you how God hears our prayers!!! Tuesday night I sent out your email about when little Joe went to the ER. It was the email that said "please pray." I included Joes picture. One of the people I sent it to was our pastor.
Our church is in Pella Iowa. Pella is small but our church has people attending from all around. We hold 3 morning services. Roughly 2,000 people total on a Sunday morning.
We have been in the book of Luke. Chapter 9 was today. At the end our pastor talked about an email he received to pray for little Joe. He than read the 4 page email about Joe!!! He loved the part how God talked to you about praying over Joes body. Your whole story fit into Luke chapter 9. We prayed for little Joe. He even showed his picture. After the service I went up to the pastor and told him that I had sent the email. He said he had another story that happened in Pella about a little boy and DHS but felt he should not use it. Then he saw this email from me. Printed it out and knew God had placed that email for him to share and pray for. As we were talking, the music that was playing while the people were leaving and the next service people were arriving was Shawn singing "He is worthy" When I realized I was listening to Shawn I pointed out how his wife was the one who wrote the email. I had tears running down my cheeks. God was oh so near at that moment.
