coffee and sunshine

Coffee is the one thing that is good on every morning....whether hot or cold or rainy or sunny.... and on this particular Saturday morning its sunny as I sit in Uptown Espresso a couple of blocks from my house... The pups have been fed breakfast and Shawn is still off somewhere in dreamland so I decided to steal a few moments of quiet before the day is up and running.

I have my favorite table here back in the corner where I can see the the open air entrance of the coffee shop without being viewed by the incoming patrons. Its cool in here and full of old mismatched wooden tables and leather chairs...there are murals painted on the far wall and whimical clouds on the rest... classical music is playing and so soothing that this morning I am not even noticing how green the carpet is... (quite a feat)

It is a good morning. I felt my heart exclaim "this is the day the LORD has made!" and just before the joy and gladness soon followed, I took a moment to be thankful for the healing God is working in me. I have really battled gloominess and depression this past year...and in the last few weeks God has put His hand upon me and lifted my countenance and reminded me of the small and bigger and even huge truths that are now making me free.

Its stunning how having the mindset that God has created this day and has filled it with reflections of His glory and purposed it....its stunning how that injects hope into an 'ordinary' day...

Well I am heading out of here and back to my house to take pups on a good long morning walk... Yes, all four of them. Shawn and I actually devised a way to get all of them on one leash...I met an older man at the park last night and he laughed when he saw me and said "now all you need is snow!" I couldn't help but join his laughter at the thought of the five of us acting as a sledding team....*grin*

I am working a series of new posts...hopefully they will be up by Monday...or at least the first installment...

Until then, friends, remember God breathes life into each day and forms it....look for His intent and purposes as you walk through it!

Be God's!

Thanks. Yeah, the puppies are very smart, but they are so stubborn. Whenever they make a mess in the house, they know they did something wrong, especcially Rachel. Once she sees us, she'll bow her head and start walking away. I guess that's just them being puppies though. I'm more of a cat person myself. I was so excited when we got to save the kittens. They are still so small, but really healthy now. They're not afraid of us anymore. I'm afraid to know what they went through before they got to us, but they have a good home now, and if everything works out with allergies, they have a permanant home with us. Well, thanks again. God Bless.
