"sahn come OME!" translation: shawn come home! little joseph's favorite phrase...probably heard it a MINIMUM of 100 times a day this past weekend. i have decided having small children around is about as agood for the soul as anything else i have experienced.
i love that joe doesn't care how tired we are of hearing the same things over and over and over again. all he know is that he wants shawn to be there..to pick him up and toss him in the air and chase him around the room making his elmo voice...to tickle hm until he almost pees his pants.
he stood in front of the tv where mom and i were watching the news and stomped his foot with each pleading syllable. i pulled him to myself and said 'you miss shawn?' 'up' (yep) he replied. i explained to him that shawn was working and couldn't come home and that i missed him too. i would've sworn i finally 'got through' that time...but then he crawled up on my lap, took my face in his little 'shrown'(brown *grin*) hands and pleaded "peeeeess?"
joe and his little brother josh spend most thursdays- mondays at my parents house (soon custody will be theirs, thank JESUS) and sometimes i wonder if joe thinks that what the rest of us do too...go somewhere and then come "ome"...but whatever he thinks about his 'two houses' , he knows he wants everyone to be there together from my mom and dad to my brothers girlfriend 'shusan'. he knows who belongs there and when they are missing it just doesn't feel right to him.
sometimes i think i catch glimpses of what JESUS meant when He said we must become like children to be a part of His Kingdom...joseph at 3 and a half sometimes knows things i wish i knew!
enjoy the pics..joe is the one with dark hair and eyes..the little blond one is his brother, josh

Children are a gift from God. In 1984 we adopted a little girl from El Salvador. She died a little over a year later from complications from open heart surgery. I was so angry at God!!! My husband never went back to church after that.
In 1987 we adopted again from El Salvador. My Meghan is a beautiful 21 year old. She is struggling in her life. She does not really have any friends. She has been looking for almost 2 years for a full time job. She has her CNA but loves her part time job in daycare. Good jobs in Iowa are hard to come by. She does not have any self-confidence. please pray for her. She loves God so much. Just having trouble understanding why Gods timing is so long. She has never even had a date. It is hard for her to have Jesus shine through when she is so full of hurt and uncertainty.
Sorry this is so long. Your stories really touched me!
