nothing says 'nashvegas' to me more than settling in at fido's coffee shop. ahh... i have to admit, its been really nice to sleep in a bed that isn't moving these last couple of nights. also good: having personal transportation & knowing the city you are parked in.
its been a pleasantly eventful couple of days...we pulled in yesterday morning and parked the old bus at krogers. then shawn, neal (cello player), craig (percussionist) and i headed downtown to our hotel rooms. transition isn't easy...shawn and i had a big 'discussion' (commonly referred to as a 'fight' *grin*) to prove that fact and then we all took naps...lovely naps on our soft beds...soft, STATIONARY beds. it was glorious. we ate at the mello mushroom (let's here it for the best greek salad in town) and shawn and i saw a very disturbing move called 'the history of violence'. i don't recommend seeing it. about half way through the many scenes of grotesque violence, my sweet and weak- stomached husband squeezed my hand and said 'why did we come to see this again?'... i still don't know the answer to that. then we tried to eat at the new cheesecake factory in downtown...we realized it wasn't quite open when we walked right into the middle of their employee training session- fun stuff *grin*
it was a good night though. we got to see bebo and his wife and band. great to catch up with those guys...we love them like family. a very late night, but worth it.
then today we got our hair done. shawn got his cut and i got mine colored. i am a little backwards, i suppose. i went dark brown in the late spring and now blond again for fall. oh well. i have never been quite right....
...speaking of hair... i am going to attach a pic of this, because words cannot do justice...but shawn, neal, and craig have been growing their facial hair out for the tour and they decided saturday to create mustaches and do a 'photo shoot' for their band: shawn mcdonald and the ditry stache band. its really quite remarkable. ha!
well that's what's going on here...tour starts back up tonight... we are eating sushi at ru sans in a little bit...cross your fingers! i am going to (hopefully) try my first peice tonight... i'll let you know how it is if i don't die from eating uncooked meat.
much love!
**i visited a used bookstore today...wouldn't it be fun to own one of those? hmmm...
pics to come later...for some reason they won't load up just yet...i'll try later

Hope you enjoyed your sushi! I personally can't stand the stuff...... ok I'll admit it. I haven't ever given sushi a fair chance. Looking forward to your take on the "sushi experience".
Great post btw. Very fun. :-)
God bless,
Tim
Hello Kate!
I do miss it when you miss a few days! I love reading. And ohhh, I would love to run a bookstore/coffee shop! I am anxious to see your hair! I have been a redhead (thanks to Redkin) but want next time to go "back" to brown with some blond highlights! My original color is , wait let me think, yes!!! Mousy brown with a hint of gray. I have had the red hair for a few years now. I am ready for yet another change!! I did have it highlighted for summer. Some times I think a women needs to take a second job just to support their beauty habits! (just kidding.) Have a great night!!!
Hi Kate!
You may be surprised to know that "sushi" is not always made with raw fish, but comes in many forms, and often has cooked fillings depending upon what is being used. This page was educational for me: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sushi. I couldn't figure out how to hyperlink to it though...sorry!
Great to read you got a few nights of rest!
I miss talking to you Kate.. I thought while I had some time here at school, I would stop in and see what your life fills. Are we still on later in the fall to spend some time together??? I'm looking forward to it more than you know!!!! Maybe I"ll have lost more lbs by then :-) Lots of love,
Shannon
Fido's Coffee...I've been there and was sort of disappointed. I had hear good things about the place and spent an entire day there having several cups of coffee, including a Carmel latte- it wasn't very good. But I'm a critic!
There is a great pizza shop down the road (I can't remember the name) but it was awesome!
Kate,
I am always so encouraged by reading your blog;)... I love your stories and can relate (in a few areas) in the new married life... I love your heart...
