a friend (www.nyetimes.blogspot.com) recommended this movie on his blog with this warning: its an AMAZING movie with a message i assume all of us need to hear, but...i will warn that there is some 'colorful' language and one scene that is explicit in nature (you can see it coming and fast forward...he said that and was right.
i am not a movie person, but this one is powerful. if you are an adult, please see it. i would love to hear what you think.
also, has anyone seen 'the constant gardener'? want to see it, but like hearing recommendations from people i trust first!

tim & i went to the constant gardner last week. thinking it might be similar to 'beyond borders', i had high expectations, and they fell short. we shared the theatre on opening night with 3 other people. i'm not sure if that was foreshadowing or not, but when the other couple walked out 45 minutes in to it, we assumed the other viewer who was still in the theatre was either sleeping, or a movie reporter with a job to do. Interesting topic yes, but not enough to keep us until the end. It may be just me, and I don't want to downplay it if others thought it was amazing or brilliant or whatever, I just couldn't help but think about all the other stuff i'd rather be doing. i just kept thinking it'd get better and it didn't. it's slow, and lengthy.

sara...girl! i felt SO many of the same things when i watched crash..i was left almost speechless, to tell you the truth. i have noticed the prejudice in my heart so much this week..its a big wake up call.
